It is projected that more than 33000 new aircraft will be inducted into service by 2030 – which by implication would create a requirement of 5 lakh new jobs for Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAE) or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) and other jobs which are directly or indirectly related to Aeronautics and the Aviation industry.
Aircraft Engineers or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers ensure that all Aircraft are maintained in full-serviceable condition otherwise known as “air-worthy” and its passengers or users are safe at all times. Aircraft Engineers must identify the problem and replace the problem by following the instructions in Aircraft Manuals and the Training he has undergone. All Scheduled or Unscheduled Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul can be carried out only by Aircraft Engineers and Technicians who have obtained their License.
To become an Aircraft Engineer or Technician one must obtain a License issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.

Students have the advantage of completing their BSc. Aircraft Maintenance undergraduate degree during their License programme, as optional, enabling him/her to proceed with higher studies, if necessary.
Anybody with a passion for Aeronautics and any of the below academic qualifications -
Practical Training & Experience is offered on Live Operational Aircraft and Simulators (MFTD) such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, Cessna, Bell, etc. HAA has long term agreements with Indigo Airlines and Airworks India Engineering Pvt Ltd for providing Students Practical Training & Experience. This is also counted as certified work experience. Hands-on practical experience on all types of aircraft and other ancillary departments of the Engineering department is recorded in a "Personal Experience Handbook" signed and sealed by Authorised Quality Manager. Students are required to observe and perform tasks prescribed by the DGCA under supervision of Nodal officers.
All students of AME are immediately employable soon after their course with the experience gained from HAA. Those students who have exceptional academic and character record are offered “Contract of Employment” towards the end of their course.
Singapore Airlines has been conducting campus interviews at our Academy and successful candidates are being employed in Singapore from 2007 onwards.
Most of our students are already well placed in the public sector including Defense aviation and private sector of the Aviation Industry. For e.g., Indian Air Force, Indian Army, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Airworks India Engineering, Indigo, SpiceJet, GoAir, Vistara, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air, Saudia Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, KLM, British Airways and some OEMs like Airbus, Boeing, Rockwell Collins, Thale, Pratt & Whitney, GE, Bombardier and all other Aviation related companies.
Above all, the student must be determined and motivated to take up any amount of challenges involved in the Aviation industry by grooming himself / herself to be a disciplined, well mannered and smart individual to be employed as a highly skilled / dedicated Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
