Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) plays a vital role in Aviation ensuring that any Aeroplane / Helicopter is safe to operate at any given time. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Technician is responsible for the safety of the Aircraft and ensures that it is in fully serviceable condition otherwise known as “Air-Worthy” for the safety of its users at all times. Aircraft Maintenance Engineers / Technicians are highly trained to identify the problem and replace the problem quickly and safely. All Scheduled or Unscheduled Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul can be carried out only by Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Technicians. An aircraft is issued a "Certificate of Airworthiness" after an AME has performed all maintenance procedures. Such maintenance procedures can be performed only by a highly skilled professional who has completed a Basic AME course and obtained a License.
If you are passionate about Aeroplanes and Helicopters and want to work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Technician you must obtain a "License" issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India.
Since 1986, Hindustan Aviation Academy (HAA) has been providing Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, such as;
Students pursue a UG degree in BSc Aircraft Maintenance affiliated with Bangalore North University while doing an AME License course. This improves their scope of employment in aviation and aeronautical engineering thus not limiting their careers only to Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
Pass 10+2 (or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Or
Pass a Diploma in Mechanical / Aeronautical / Electrical / Electronic Engg from any Polytechnic approved by the DTE Board and AICTE.
